  • When is Skate Club?

    • Skate Club takes place on Thursdays from January through March.  It starts  immediately after school and ends at 5:00pm.

  • Where does Skate Club take place?

    • Skate Club members stay after school and meet Mr. Haury and Mrs. Perkins in the LES gym.  We walk to Castle Skateland together at 3:45pm.  Parents should pick their child up at Castle Skateland at 5:00pm.

  • How do Skate Club members get to Castle Skateland?

    • The Skate Club walks to Castle Skateland as a group.  At 3:45pm Mr. Haury leads the group from the LES gym.  They cross at the main LES crosswalk and walk through the parking lot of Shopper's Haven.  The group arrives together at Castle Skateland at 4:00pm.  Mrs. Perkins monitors the back of the group and is the last to arrive.  Many other LES staff members chaperone the group while walking to Castle Skateland.

  • How much does Skate Club cost?

    • Skate Club has a $50 dollar fee due at the time of registration.  This covers the cost of 10 skating sessions and skate rental for the duration of the club.  If you are not able to pay the fees Skate Club can provide a scholarship from our generous donors.  We do not want any LES student to miss out on this wonderful opportunity.  100% of the fee goes to Castle Skateland and the LES Skate Club.  Mr. Haury, Mrs. Perkins, and all other Skate Club chaperones volunteer their time and are not paid for running this club.

  • Can you bring your own skates?

    • Yes!  Members may bring their own roller skates or inline skates.  The fee remains the same even if members bring their own skates (this is a negotiated rate with Castle Skateland).  We also highly encourage helmets and pads to reduce the risk of injuries.

  • Are older/younger siblings allowed to attend?

    • Yes!  Although this club is exclusively for 4th graders at LES, siblings are able to attend.  They must be accompanied by a parent/guardian and meet the Skate Club at Castle Skateland when they arrive at 4:00pm.  Anyone outside of Skate Club will need to pay Castle Skateland's regular fees, and the session will still end at 5:00pm.

  • Can Skate Club members bring money to spend at Castle Skateland?

    • Skate Club members are welcome to bring money to spend at the concession stand during our skate session.  Please note that the arcade at Castle Skateland will be shut off for the duration of our skate sessions.  The concession stand will open at 4:30pm giving members 30 minutes to make purchases.  We highly encourage our members to spend their time skating, not snacking!
